Having worked together for nearly a decade in several capacities, and since 2020, with a focus on establishing thriving teams in South Africa to service a range of UK companies, our team is small enough to offer a bespoke service, yet smart enough to solve your biggest offshoring challenges.

Brett Duncan: SA Based Co-Founder

Brett has been working in the recruitment space since 2000, across London, Sydney, and South Africa.

More recently, Brett has been involved in building outsourced teams for Australian and UK-based companies. With extensive experience in local recruitment in South Africa as well as in establishing offshore teams for UK and Australian-based clients, Brett is in a strong position to deliver exceptional results. He understands the local South African candidate landscape, its challenges, and the amazing potential that the South African market offers. Through this experience, he is able to assist clients in building productive local teams that make a significant impact.

Based in South Africa, Brett's unique combination of local and international expertise ensures that he can provide tailored solutions and on the ground oversight of our clients’ outsourced South African teams.

Grant Henderson: UK Based Co-Founder

South African born and schooled, and after a short professional rugby career, Grant established himself in the UK recruitment industry in the early 2000’s. He gained experience as a consultant, trainer, and manager before becoming the director of his own coaching and management consulting business in 2009.

Later, as the COO of a multinational recruitment group, Grant oversaw the company’s growth, developed operational teams, established good processes, and worked closely on multiple acquisitions for close on a decade. Most recently, he headed up the establishment of their South African office, which continues to drive increased efficiency and productivity year on year.

Based in the UK, Grant is the key client contact for all our clients’ in-person needs.

Angie Scaife: Head of Operations

Angie Scaife is a leader in the recruitment industry with extensive knowledge and experience. She has prestigious qualifications in business, recruitment, and coaching from WITS, UCT, and the NLP Academy.

She passionately believes that recruitment consultation should be uniquely adapted to every client and candidate because no one is alike.

As Head of Operations and based in our offices in SA, Angie leads and guides the offshore team at Shorza to deliver outstanding services to clients and candidates.

The Shorza recruitment bootcamp

We run an in-house 2-week bootcamp as part of our talent identification and training to bring motivated people into the recruitment industry. The course focuses on covering all the basics of recruitment as well as the following:

  • Recruitment in the UK market: cultural assimilation.

  • Terminology and jargon.

  • The resourcing call.

  • UK general compliance and candidate onboarding.

  • Maximising LinkedIn.

  • A general overview of job boards.

  • Objection handling.

  • Day/Week planning.

Once the basic training has been completed, the attendees of the bootcamp then carry out live resourcing for Shorza to test them in real-life scenarios, monitor their potential, and build their confidence.

After 2 weeks, the attendees are ready to begin their onboarding with our UK clients.
